Get your pumpkins, hot cocoa, apple cider, and candy corn ready…it’s time for a fall baby shower! The autumn aesthetic is so strong, you’re bound to come up with some festive ideas for decorations, lighting, food, and fun. The changing leaves and everything pumpkin spice may just be inspiration enough to come up with all of the fun party ideas on your own. But, if you’re lacking inspiration, we’ve come up with five ways to make your fall baby shower festive and memorable for the season.
1. Decorate with Pumpkins
Not only are pumpkins a mainstay of every fall season (and the season’s most popular caffeinated drinks) they’re also a perfect decor theme for a baby shower. “Pumpkin” is one of the cutest and most popular nicknames for a baby. Embrace it by decking out the place in this beautiful gourd. You can dip real or faux pumpkins in blue or pink paint to show off the gender of the upcoming bundle of joy.

If the parents already have a name picked out for the new baby, decorate the biggest pumpkin with a glitter initial for their name. You can DIY this project with a stencil, glue, and loose glitter. Stick it next to the front door so guests know their in the right place.

2. String up the Twinkle Lights
While twinkle lights fit in most seasons, there’s something nice about using them for a fall baby shower. The subtle, warm light looks great amidst rustic decor accents like raw wood or fallen leaves. Use twinkle lights that run off of battery power so you can stick them anywhere without having to worry about finding an outlet.

3. Embrace the Seasonal Food
When you think of fall, some great food likely comes to mind. Skip generic food for all seasons and deck out this autumn baby shower with the foods of fall. You can still do something unexpected, like this chili bar. Provide a wide array of toppings, like cheese, green onions and sour cream.
Apple pie is a must for fall. Make them baby-sized by going for mini apple hand pies instead. Guests can walk around and mingle while eating this tasty treat.
4. Take it Outside
If you time the baby shower right, you could be having it when the leaves are bright red and orange. A great option is to hold at least a portion of the party outside. It’s all worth it when you see that rustic nature!
5. Play Fall-Themed Games and Activities
With the food and decor fall-themed, it can be easy to forget about the games. Go for activities that are inspired by the season. Pick up a pack of plain white bibs and have guests draw fall items or Halloween costumes on them as a group gift for the parents. If you want a game that could have a lucky guest win a prize, go for a “how many pumpkins are in this jar” game with candy pumpkins.
